Cetec Automation released its TIPS Compliance (TIP) system in accordance with IRS tips reporting requirements. TIP was designed to augment Cetec’s product offering in the gaming and hospitality industry and targeted for delivery on March 1, 2005.

Tips management is an integral part of Cetec’s Workforce Time Optimization Solutions (TOS), offering gaming and hospitality enterprises required compliance with IRS provisions and agreements regarding employees earned tips and tips distribution.  The Cetec TOS-8i is configured for the gaming & hospitality industry as a fully integrated workforce management system with Time & Attendance, Demand Initiated Scheduling, Rules-based Timekeeping and a comprehensive set of labor cost optimization applications. TOS provides work time optimization methods intended to improve personnel utilization, enhance assignment & scheduling, and generate gross-to-pay records using exception based control attendance, rules-based time keeping and an automated payroll update process.

The TIP system outlined in this document is Cetec’s latest addition to its time optimization solution, offering compliance with IRS provisions and TDRA, TDCA and TEPA agreements.  The primary purpose of this system is to provide the tools needed to enhance employer’s compliance and eliminate excessive IRS audit of employer’s personnel.

TIP includes three functional components. The first distributes pooled tips based upon configurable hours worked and the second calculates tips based upon a tip rate for each hour worked determined by department, job classification and shift. The third component allows employees to report actual tips earned any time from a Kiosk.

TIP operates as an integral module of TOS and utilizes two of its major components. Time/Amount to Pay (TAP) is configured at the enterprise level and Data Exchange Engine (DEX) which interfaces with external systems such as Payroll/HR to which the created Tip records can be exported.
